HIV Cluster Detection and Response
Explaining new public health surveillance techniques
Project Background
HIV cluster detection and response helps public health agencies identify communities affected by rapid HIV transmission. This new technique helps communities decide where to boost HIV prevention and treatment services and programs. However, there are potential ethical concerns and public trust issues raised by this approach.
Our Work
We developed a set of animated videos with simple graphics to explain HIV cluster detection and response. The videos were for a research project funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Results
The videos were made for a study by the Health and Human Services Agency at the County of San Diego and now available to other researchers for future studies.
